Brighton has excellent sporting facilities for participants as well as a decent choice of spectator sports, the most popular of which is football. The Brighton and Hove Albion football club has a respectable following and it's possible to catch a game at the Withdean Sports Complex and Fitness Centre in Brighton's Tongdean Lane; there are plans to build new stadium. Rugby is also popular and the Brighton Rugby Union Club is based at the Brighton Rugby Football Club on Waterhall road. Local newspapers regularly publish up-to-date sporting fixtures to keep you abreast of up-coming sporting events. Golfers can enjoy a number of golf courses in the area, many of which boast great views of the city or surrounding countryside. For those who like to keep fit, the city has decent sporting facilities including tennis courts, swimming pools, fitness centres and gyms.
